My love for making pictures began in a darkroom in Bemidji Minnesota during the summer of 1959. I have been enchanted by the science and art of photography from that day to this.
I studied photography at Rochester Institute of Technology and earned a BFA in 1971. In 1974 I earned a MFA in photoprintmaking at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The following year I began a teaching career at Columbia College, Chicago which lead to a position as Associate Professor at Northern Virginia Community College. At NOVA I founded the digital imaging program and taught the first classes there using computers to make pictures. This lead to a long career as a consultant in the computer industry. In recent years I have simply pursued the joy of making my own pictures.
I exhibit occasionally and my work is in many private and public collections.
